Some dates are just meant for your 20s and you should have experienced some of them by the time you’re 30. Whether you have a serious boyfriend or you experience each of these dates with a new guy, it doesn’t really matter because they are all fun and grossly romantic. Let this be a bucket list for dating in your 20s and there are so many more, so if you have a good suggestion, add it to the list in the comments below!
- Picnic Date:grab a blanket, a basket and some simple foods for a picnic. Be sure to include wine in there. Trust us, it makes the date way better and more romantic!
- County Fair Date:Remember in Sweet Home Alabamawhen she heads to the fair and dances to country music with her ex-husband? Well almost every town has one of those, so grab a guy and eat some fried Twinkies together.
- Tourist Date:Spend the day doing things around town that a tourist would do if they came to your city for the first time. Sorry to those who live in towns without tourist attractions!
- Hiking Date:Yes, you will look stupid if you put on eyeliner for this date, and no we will not judge you for buying adorable matching workout gear for this date.
- Sporting Event Date:The goal for this one is to get on the kissing cam! Totally cliché, but it’s a must for your 20s!
- Valentine’s Date:There is no specific date here, but there should be at least one Valentine’s Day in your 20s that you look back on and remember it as one of the most romantic nights of your life.
- Mini Golf Date:Most mini-golf places include go-karts and arcade games. Play them all! It’s the best date and the cure to boring first dates. No awkward silences on this one.
- Broadway Date:You don’t have to go to NYC for this, but you do need to head to the theater for a Broadway show. We personally suggest Wickedor Avenue Q. Both are great for guys!
- Christmas Date:Get in his car and drive around looking at all the Christmas lights around your city. It’s free and it’s super romantic.
- Class Date:Ideally, this should be cooking or a dance class with your boyfriend or date, however anything you are both generally interested in learning together works for this one.
- Volunteer Date:Spend the day feeding the homeless or doing something to give back to the community. You will both feel great after!
- Comedy Show Date:Go to the best comedy place in town (especially ones with dinner and drinks avail) and laugh all night with a boy. It’s cute, we swear.
- Beach Date:A romantic long walk on the beach at night. This one should have been obvious.
- Meet the Parents Date:Whether you’re meeting his or he’s meeting yours, you should have at least one meet the parents date in your 20s. How else will you prep for the real deal?
- Theme Park Date:For less serious couples, a Six Flag date is perfect, but for serious couples, the ultimate date is of course, Disney. It doesn’t matter whether you head to California or Florida, it truly is the happiest place on earth.
- Road Trip Date:The ultimate test of whether or not the person you’re dating is right for you. Spend 6+ hours in a car with them. Make a plan and head out on the road. Don’t forget to make a playlist.
- Karaoke Date:You both have to at least sing once. You are allowed to do it together. Remember the song you choose is important! Tip: Don’t be THAT person and choose “Don’t Stop Believing.”
- Wine Tasting Date:Super romantic and you get extremely drunk. Nothing else needs to be said.
- Cooking Date:Pick out a recipe that takes about an hour or two to prepare. Pick out some board games and stay in for a night together. Make sure you BOTH share the dish cleaning responsibility!
- Adventure Date:This one is totally open to interpretation. Basically, this is the date you look back on and consider the coolest date you have EVER been on. Examples: sky diving, bungee jumping, hot air balloon ride, exotic vacation, etc. It’s your chance to get creative.
How many of these have you been on?
